Muslims worldwide celebrate these days the "Feast of Sacrifice" (Kurban Bayram or Eid al Adha), the most important Islamic holiday to commemorate the willingness of Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son Ismail (Isaac) as an act of obedience to God, before God intervened to provide boda him with a ram to sacrifice instead. The same scene with the same significance also appears in the Old Testament. *** Musulmanii din toatǎ lumea sǎrbǎtoresc în aceste zile Kurban Bayram sau Eid al Adha ( Sǎrbǎtoarea Sacrificiului ). Este cea mai importantǎ sǎrbǎtoare a Islamului, amintind de voinţa lui Avraam (Ibrahim) de a-şi sacrifica fiul, pe Isaac (Ismail) ca act de supunere faţǎ de Dumnezeu, care de altfel l-a cruţat, oprindu-l boda în ultimul moment şi aducându-i un berbec boda pentru a fi sacrificat în locul copilului. Aceeaşi scenǎ cu aceeaşi semnificaţie apare şi în Vechiul Testament.
