T raditionally, baby showers are attended by both men and women with the intent to share ideas and wisdom coursecompass on becoming a mother and parenting to the mother-to-be. In the Philippines, people are not accustomed to holding baby showers when possible. This is more common in Western countries. I have not been to a baby shower until last Saturday. My good friend Mona, who got married to Carl, had a baby shower. Carl is a Brit so it's understandable why merong baby shower. They're expecting coursecompass to give birth with JK on March 17 through CS. They do not know yet its gender coursecompass but they already have a girl and a boy names ready for it with initials JK. I asked but I forgot what JK stands for, for either gender. Mom again-to-be Mona Me, My Very Dependable Sling Bag (Hides my "abs") and Mona
I had dilemma on what to give her as gift. I researched. Praktikal dapat. So I decided to give her (or shall I say, the baby) diapers. My other friends Golden, Charlie, Apol and I chipped in for loads of diapers. I already have 2 kids so I know newborns can't have enough diapers during the first months. Sadly, Golden and Apol couldn't make it to the party. Si Charlie na lang kasama ko. Sige na nga, pag-tiyagaan coursecompass nang kasama si Charlie lang. Peace, Charlie! ^_^
Pakyut si Charlie! I expected that there's gonna be games, you know the usual games in baby showers like those on what I've seen on movies and read. Pero wala. Carl said, they thought of it but since guests did not arrive on the specified time, the games were cancelled. Ganyan ang Pinoy, pasaway sa mga parties. May sariling time. So ang drama, coursecompass small get-together lang ng mga close friends niya with lafang. I enjoyed the food. I am not very particular with what they're called. Finger foods most of them. Basta masarap, 'yun na! Especially the dessert. Here in Baguio (or maybe sa ibang lugar din), we usually call that cake 'Streamline'. And it had pieces of strawberry on top of each slice. I've tasted Streamline before but that one so far was the standout. 'Di ko natanong kung saan binili 'yun. Despite that, nag-enjoy ako. At least ngayon, coursecompass I can add that to my resume (resume talaga?) na I already had the chance to attend a baby shower. I enjoyed the company and the food, especially the food. Plus the fact na matagal ko nang hindi nakita si Mona. I missed her. So catch-up time. She had mentioned to me before that she had a difficulty with her first born's delivery. I hope she'll do better this time. Little less than two weeks and JK is gonna be out and they're gonna be holding him/her on their arms. More babies to come. Go girl! Ciao! ♥
