UPDATED: Week Four prompts are here. (Week Three prompts are here.) (Week Two prompts are here.) Many people observe Lent as a time to give something up in pursuit of holiness, to unite our sacrifices with the sacrifice invitation card of Christ. As we prepare for Easter, this can also be a time to add a spiritual practice that helps us grow closer to God. Lent is an excellent time to learn a new prayer, to read a spiritual classic or to find ways to make extra space for God in the midst of our regular lives. To help us focus on finding invitation card the sacred in the everyday, my husband George and I have decided to do a photo-a-day project this Lent. We would love to have your company. Every day from Ash Wednesday (next Wednesday, March 5) up to and including Easter Sunday, we will provide invitation card a prompt based on the daily lectionary scripture readings. Using the prompt as your inspiration, take a photo and share it with our community on Instagram, Twitter or your favorite social media outlet using the hashtag #HolyLens. At the end of the project, we will post a linkup so everyone can share their favorite photos. Here are the prompts for Week One (Ash Wednesday, March 5 through Tuesday, invitation card March 11):
You can find the daily lectionary readings on the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops site here (in case you want to read the prompts in context). Look in the right-hand sidebar for the calendar and choose the day you want to see. Not Catholic? Can't participate every day? Please join us whenever you can, no matter who you are or what your background is. Our community is made richer by your participation in whatever way you contribute. Thanks for joining us on our journey to look for the holy in unexpected places this Lent. You can find Week Two prompts here.
